God used man by moving through their thoughts and words. We will return to the authority of Scripture in a moment. But before we do, we need to look at four other sources that God uses to communicate truth. Reason. God wants us to use our minds—and to use them well.   A Word on Preaching from John Piper. The follow-up to both titles is Piper’s latest book, Expository Exultation: Christian Preaching as explains the impetus to write on this topic: One of the primary burdens of this book is to show that preaching not only assists worship, but also is worship. The title Expository Exultation is intended to communicate that this unique form of.

In order that God may communicate with me (through the scriptures) and I with God (through prayer), God has put a system in place between me and him. There are words with works. Firstly, Christ mediated God’s word to us and we respond with praise God, we believe God, we obey God.   The Word of God existed long before Jesus became a human being. Jesus of Nazareth was truly a man, walking and talking in our midst. But he was also truly God. As deep a mystery as this is, it is not meant to confuse us. The Sacraments by Louis-Marie Chauvet offers reflections on the theology, celebration, and pastoral usage of. God speaks to all believers through the vehicle of the Bible, which is all we need to equip us for the Christian life (2 Timothy ). Communicating the Word of God Publicly Gene Taylor If it is not the declaration of the authoritative word of the Son of God, then it is not preaching.

God does not communicate to us verbally or with faint emotions that we must attempt to translate; we don’t have to worry about reading tea leaves. God is a God of order. He is very clear in His words to us. It is more than a random collection of stories, poems, and letters.

It is the voice of God communicating with us. That is why the Bible is often referred to as “the Word of God.” In Psalmthe Israelite king David shows us how we should approach the Bible. David saw God’s word as his source of life and hope. He delighted in it.

Solid scholarship that gives an inspiring illumination of the way Jesus and the church recognized and used the OT as Scripture, as the Word of God. In the same way the message of the gospel became to be recognized in the NT as the complimentary authorative Word of God as Scripture.

God did not have to communicate to mankind, but He chose to so that we could know Him, enjoy fellowship with Him, and understand ourselves and the world. If He had not taken the first step to reveal Himself to us through His Word, we simply would not know Him, and we would be left to deduce what we could about the world from what we could sense.

Word of God (Hebrewsetc.). The Bible so called because the writers of its several books were God's organs in communicating his will to men.

The characters who are close to God in the Bible, such as Abraham, Jacob, David, are very flawed human beings. The full implementation of God’s moral imperatives in the new world of righteousness requires three elements: the undisputed rule of the Lord Jesus Christ, who Himself is the Word of God; a governing priesthood; and people who live on the new earth but are not of the priesthood.

THE eternal God created intelligent beings with whom to share life and happiness. (Ps. ; 1 Tim. ) The apostle John referred to God’s first companion as “the Word” and “the beginning of the creation by God.” (John ; Rev.

The prophets often stated that the messages they delivered were God’s word. The formation of the faithful in receiving and communicating the Word of God is a particularly important pastoral commitment. Dei Verbum refers to this duty by recalling the multi-faceted value of the Word of God and by clearly indicating the tasks, responsibilities and formation programme.

Read His Word as Sons. Of the three, reading God’s word as a son is likely the most familiar paradigm. You know that the Bible is more than just checking a box.

It is more like opening a box personally addressed to you. God is not communicating with you as his peer, his buddy, or as his enemy, but as his precious son.
